Needle Systems by Sewing Machine and Stitch Class
A needle system defines a needle's dimensions so it fits a specific machine type and stitch class. Put the wrong system in a machine and you get thread breakage, skipped stitches, poor uniformity, or fabric damage. This explains what a needle system is, how to read the codes, and gives a reference table by stitch class.
What defines a system
A needle system is set primarily by three measurements:
- Eye-to-butt length (D)
- Shank length (N)
- Shank diameter (A)
…and it is tied to particular stitch classes.
