Quality in Fabric Cutting: The Five Measures of a Good Cut
Cutting quality means every part comes out exactly like its pattern, with no adverse effect on the fabric. The higher you spread, the harder that becomes, so cutting quality is really about how well the cutter controls the process across a tall lay. It is judged on five measures.
1. Cutting accuracy
How closely the blade splits the pattern line in the marker. Straying inside or outside the line changes the part's size and, eventually, the garment's fit.
